Acetylene Gas

Many gases include of dangerous chemicals because of their easily to burn. The gas that include of this kind such as petrol, benzene, LPG and other LNG, Acetylene, etc. Acetylene gas is produced from the chemical reaction between calcium carbide and water. This simple reaction often be created by mechanics to welded job.

The chemical reaction formula as follows:

CaC2 + 2H2O → C2H2 + Ca(OH)2 + heat

This gas have advantage because of a higher combustion velocity, higher flame capacity and higher flame temperature over other fuel gasses, so this combustion effect can use for steel welding use. A gas with a higher combustion velocity produces a shorter flame.

The burning of this gas will create heat to 335 oC and the yield of this reaction as follows:

Acetylene + Oxygen ----> 4 CO2 + 2 H2O + heat
